Pomar Velho, Galegos Ref 1.003

Pomar Velho is situated right on the Portuguese-Spanish border in the picturesque Natural Park of the Serra de Sao Mamede.
Pomar Velho is a large farmhouse built over 200 years ago and beautifully restored between 1997 to 2000. With over 500 square metres of enclosed living space, it sits within 2 hectares of terraced land.
When restored in 2000 the farmhouse was completely stripped and taken back to its shell. A new insulated roof, new floors, new plumbing and a new electric circuit were then installed.
The house has 22 rooms consisting of 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 1 dining room, 1 kitchen and 4 other public spaces involving hallways and a small library.
Pomar Velho has central-heating throughout plus 2 wood-burning fires in the living rooms and an open fire/bread oven in the dining room. The 1 metre thick walls and roof insulation and double glazed windows ensure that Pomar Velho is cool in the summer.

Apart from this completely restored property, there is another equally large, stone property ready for restoration on the land.
This offers the perfect opportunity for the new owner to carry out his own building project.
